The Martian was released on October 2nd 2015, the movie stars Matt Damon as botanist Mark Watney who was left stranded on Mars (The Red Planet). The movie goes through series of events that test the renowned botanist and his survival skills. It begins by his team of astronauts leaving him behind he was thought to be dead after a super storm rolled through. Even still Nasa and his teammates do not give up hope and prepare a rescue mission to bring the botanist back home, similar to how emergency roadside assistance Kansas City MO would do when they are dispatched to an emergency call.
He does show throughout the movie his brains and survival skills. One particular series of events stands out in the movie, where he discovers how he can somehow grow vegetables using his own waste, not to appetizing, but it shows his amazing improvisation. The Martian also shows us how when put in hostile and “alien” situations we can survive simply with guts and wittiness. In the midst of avoiding death and every second danger, he continues to focus on somehow communicating with earth to let them know he is indeed alive.
As I watched the movie I personally loved the fact that the main character shows us how a human being can outsmart and out finesse the fierce and unpredictable nature of unknown planet. Mark Watney encounters several road blocks on his road to survival. It is obvious that his end goal is to do, what he has to do to last long enough on a foreign planet until he is rescued.

Without giving too much away in this article, believe this movie is a must see and it will keep you on your toes. It has a awesome mixture of cast away but with a better looking main character (Sorry Tom and Wilson). These types of movies have always captivated our imagination and would have us questioning ourselves, what we would do in that situation? It doesn’t hurt to add an awesome cast of characters to an intriguing story line of survival.
One more little thing, the Martian throws in a little twist you would have not expected. What kind of person would I be if I gave that one away. Go out and catch the Martian you will not be disappointed I guarantee it.
I almost want to become a space explorer after seeing this one.
